About Us

The BAT Saxophone Ensemble 百色樂團 (“BATSax”) at Hong Kong was formed on 9 September 2006 with great enthusiasm and effort of a Hong Kong saxophonist Mr. Wesley Cheng. BATSax consists of around 17 members now coming from different industries and professionals including music educators, accountants, civil servants, pet groomers and etc. Although most of them are music late comers, their passion and ambition in saxophones and music bring them together every weekend after long and busy working hours. BATSax provides its members a great opportunity to explore the beauty of saxophone music, improve playing skills and establish their friendship.

Our ensemble performs on soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones and sometimes with jazz rhythm parts for jazz big band style music. Since our establishment, we have prepared more than 100 ensemble works in various styles including classical, pop, blue and jazz, and participated in numerous performances in different occasions and events like wedding banquets, concerts and annual dinners etc. All members of BATSax are going to keep working hard with our aims to promote saxophone ensemble playing in Hong Kong and entertain our audience with our saxophone music.
